Roll Away the Pain with Trigger Point’s GRID Foam Roller

September 6, 2016

grid_foam_matrix1

The GRID Foam Roller is designed to “roll through” tight muscles, knots, and kinks leaving you feeling relaxed and moving easily. Fun fact: this product was actually designed to mimic a massage therapists hands during a deep tissue massage. Designed with Distrodensity Zones — the grooves that sit atop the foam roller — the GRID helps to relieve aches and pains by targeting areas of stress and tension, or trigger points, in the body. Unlike traditional foam rollers, which can go soft after multiple uses, the GRID is developed with a hollow core and covered in EVA foam making it firmer and longer-lasting than regular foam rollers.

Pro tip: to help you recover faster, we suggest pairing the GRID with milk + honey’s Active Gift set.

Trigger Point’s GRID foam roller is available at our 2nd Street District, Hill Country Galleria, and River Oaks locations.

New In: SweetCheeks Minimizes Appearance of Cellulite

August 18, 2016

turquoise-cool-gray

Fact: We sit — a lot. Between commuting to the office, working at a desk, or even just lounging in front of the TV, we spend a lot of time on our backsides. One study suggests that, on average, we sit for up to seven hours a day! Sitting for extended periods of time can not only lead to serious health issues, but it can also be a factor in getting cellulite.

It’s time to put your sitting to good use with SweetCheeks.

What is cellulite?

149465-cellulite-forming

Cellulite is the bunching of fat cells that push against the connective tissue and causes the epidermis to pucker or appear bumpy and dimply. This problem can affect both men and women and is commonly found on the back of your legs and around your hips.

How does SweetCheeks work?

Our newest product, SweetCheeks Cellulite Massage Mat, temporarily increases local circulation to help decrease the appearance of cellulite and can assist in relieving muscle aches, pains, and spasms. The patent-pending technology in these mats works by leveraging your body weight against the mat’s textured surface to deliver an effective manual massage to your backside. After sitting on this mat for 30 minutes, take a walk around the office or stretch. You’ll notice a slight flush in your skin along with slight impression marks. These will disappear within the hour and will leave you visible results you’ll like.

Shop these mats at your favorite milk + honey location.

Enhance Your Curls With Kevin.Murphy’s Killer.Curls

July 28, 2016

KILLERCURLS

Gone are the days of bone-straight hair. Today, many women are opting for hair that has bounce, definition, and texture.

There are many ways to get brilliant curls — a one-on-one 30-minute styling session at Curls Night Out or the damage-free, texturizing American Wave treatment — but there’s only one product our stylists use to keep your curls intact: Kevin.Murphy’s Killer.Curls.

13e0bb53591595edf0c2569d715f1754

Traditional curl activators are developed with harmful chemicals that strip moisture from your hair and cause it to become dry, coarse, and frizzy. Killer.Curls is different. This leave-in, anti-frizz cream infuses rich and nourishing vitamins into your hair, giving you long-lasting, bouncy curls.

Formulated with a combination of vitamins A, C, E, B1, and B2, this product strengthens your locks, boosts curl elasticity, and adds shine and luster. In addition to those potent vitamins, Killer.Curls is developed with essential oils such as bergamot fruit oil and baobab seed oil, which seals in moisture and revitalizes dry and damaged ends. Combined with replenishing watermelon seed extract and Paraguay leaf extract, this curl enhancer adds a hydrating protective layer to your locks, too. Like all of Kevin.Murphy’s products, Killer.Curls is paraben-free, sulphate-free, and cruelty-free.

Jewelry with a Cause: Chavez for Charity

July 15, 2016

Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s bracelets are more than just a fashion accessory. These bright yellow bracelets are designed to help raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research. Each piece of jewelry in this playful and vibrant collection is designed to inspire hope, confidence, and cheer to those who wear them. These fun bracelets are a part of the Chavez for Charity collection, which is passionate about support organizations and causes like these.

In 2013, Chavez for Charity founder, Julie Marie Chavez decided to combine her love of jewelry making with her desire to help out ten amazing causes. She wanted to create bracelets that people would not only love to wear, but also she wanted to help raise awareness and funds for those incredible charities. Julie decided to design ten different collections each utilizing a specific color palette that matches or is inspired by the organization’s logo. Her idea was to have each bracelet in the collection crafted with the organization’s assigned color as a way for people to identify which cause they’re supporting.

While some jewelry lines might donate a small portion of each item sold to an organization, Chavez for Charity is truly different. The company donates 25% of the gross proceeds each collection sold to its corresponding cause! From 2013 to 2015, Julie’s company was able to donate $400,000 to its partner charities.

Shop these fashionable bracelets at our 2nd Street District and Hill Country Galleria locations.

Chavez for Charity collections include:

Alex’s Lemonade Stand | Best Friend Animal Society | Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation | Gift for Life | Matthew Shepard Foundation | Pencils of Promise | STOMP Out Bullying | V-Day | Water.org | Whole Planet Foundation

For the Dapper Dad: The Bearded Bastard

June 9, 2016

IMG_2677(1) (1)

Stylish, organic, and luxurious are just a couple of words to describe The Bearded Bastard‘s line of men’s grooming products. The award-winning line is the brainchild of The Bearded Bastard himself, Jeremiah Newton, which he developed in order to tame his signature handlebar mustache. First, he began creating small batches of the Woodsman Mustache out of his studio apartment, and soon, word spread about the wax’s intoxicating cedar scent and long-lasting hold. These products use only the finest natural ingredients, are from sustainable, responsible sources whenever possible, and are made right here in Austin, Texas. While traditional grooming products are made with a petroleum base, which can cause your skin to dry out, The Bearded Bastard’s are formulated with nourishing ingredients like beeswax, shea fruit butter and argan oil to hydrate your skin.

To celebrate Dad this Father’s Day, The Bearded Bastard is releasing two limited-time gift sets: the Traveler’s Dopp Kit and the All Things Morocco Gift Box. The Self-Tanner Is Good For You (No Streaks Attached)

May 31, 2016

Eco-Tan_FinalV2

When it comes to getting that golden tan, many resort to the following: spending hours laying out in the sun unprotected, exposing the skin to damaging UV rays in tanning beds, or slathering on tanning lotions, which contain harmful chemicals and can leave a streaky effect. It’s time to toss out your trusty suntan oil and make the switch to Eco-Tan.

Created by Sonya Driver, Eco-Tan became her passion project after learning that her sister had been diagnosed with melanoma at age 30. In 2010, Eco-Tan made history by becoming the first self-tanner to be Certified Organic by the Australian Food and Drug Chain. Since then, it has continued to revolutionize the tanning industry by developing products that are free of silicone, parabens, phenoxyethanol, and artificial dyes and fragrances. Instead, Eco-Tan uses natural alternatives such as cocoa fruit, aloe vera, and avocado oil. Still need another reason to switch? Their organic tanning lotions are cruelty-free, 100% natural, and certified toxic-free by Safe Cosmetic Australia.

Not only is this organic tanning alternative helping you get that healthy summertime glow, but Eco-Tan also gives back. It supports charities such as The Fred Hollow Foundation, which focuses on treating and preventing blindness and other vision problems, and Good Return, which helps those living in poverty to grow their income in a sustainable way.

Come shop this premium line of all-natural self-tanners at any of our milk + honey locations.
