The 411 on CosMedix Peels

September 16, 2016

mh-2644

Acne, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and discoloration have met their match with our CosMedix corrective peels. Peels work by gently removing the top damaged or dry layer of the epidermis to reveal smooth, youthful renewed skin. At milk + honey, we offer two types of peels: Same-Day and Advanced Peels. While both options reveal beautiful results, our Advanced Peels require two weeks of skin prep, given the potent combination of rejuvenating acids and enzymes utilized.

To get you ready for our Spring Peel Party — 50% off all peels, all day long! — here’s the 411 on every peel we offer. Find out which peel does what and how they can help you achieve your specific skincare goals. To reserve your spot for our bi-annual event on Wednesday, April 5, call 512.236.1115, 713.231.0250, or email [email protected].

*A non-refundable deposit of $30 is required.

Roll Away the Pain with Trigger Point’s GRID Foam Roller

September 6, 2016

grid_foam_matrix1

The GRID Foam Roller is designed to “roll through” tight muscles, knots, and kinks leaving you feeling relaxed and moving easily. Fun fact: this product was actually designed to mimic a massage therapists hands during a deep tissue massage. Designed with Distrodensity Zones — the grooves that sit atop the foam roller — the GRID helps to relieve aches and pains by targeting areas of stress and tension, or trigger points, in the body. Unlike traditional foam rollers, which can go soft after multiple uses, the GRID is developed with a hollow core and covered in EVA foam making it firmer and longer-lasting than regular foam rollers.

Pro tip: to help you recover faster, we suggest pairing the GRID with milk + honey’s Active Gift set.

Trigger Point’s GRID foam roller is available at our 2nd Street District, Hill Country Galleria, and River Oaks locations.

Jewelry with a Cause: Chavez for Charity

July 15, 2016

Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s bracelets are more than just a fashion accessory. These bright yellow bracelets are designed to help raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research. Each piece of jewelry in this playful and vibrant collection is designed to inspire hope, confidence, and cheer to those who wear them. These fun bracelets are a part of the Chavez for Charity collection, which is passionate about support organizations and causes like these.

In 2013, Chavez for Charity founder, Julie Marie Chavez decided to combine her love of jewelry making with her desire to help out ten amazing causes. She wanted to create bracelets that people would not only love to wear, but also she wanted to help raise awareness and funds for those incredible charities. Julie decided to design ten different collections each utilizing a specific color palette that matches or is inspired by the organization’s logo. Her idea was to have each bracelet in the collection crafted with the organization’s assigned color as a way for people to identify which cause they’re supporting.

While some jewelry lines might donate a small portion of each item sold to an organization, Chavez for Charity is truly different. The company donates 25% of the gross proceeds each collection sold to its corresponding cause! From 2013 to 2015, Julie’s company was able to donate $400,000 to its partner charities.

Shop these fashionable bracelets at our 2nd Street District and Hill Country Galleria locations.

Chavez for Charity collections include:

Alex’s Lemonade Stand | Best Friend Animal Society | Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation | Gift for Life | Matthew Shepard Foundation | Pencils of Promise | STOMP Out Bullying | V-Day | Water.org | Whole Planet Foundation

June 23, 2016

Whether you prefer the challenge of the one-legged crow pose or opt for something more restorative like child’s pose, yoga is an excellent way to exercise, meditate, and relax all in one. To help us find our zen, we asked two of our 2nd Street District massage therapists, Lala K. and Kelly M., to show us some of their favorite yoga sequences, which everyone can do, too. Grab your mat and follow along.
