milk + honey Partners with MOODxMOSS

March 7, 2018

With wellness at the forefront of all things beauty and innovation, SXSW is introducing a Wellness Expo to its 2018 conference — and milk + honey will be there! Come see us in Booth #401 on Saturday, March 10th + Sunday, March 11th. You can expect product samples, giveaways, and other exciting partnerships. One of the most anticipated partnerships? Aura photography from MOODxMOSS.

If you’re wondering how aura photography works, you’re not alone. We’re breaking down the energy-forward artform with MOODxMOSS founder, Carrie Moss.

In a nutshell, how does aura photography work?

The Aura Imaging System, by Guy Coggins, utilizes biofeedback technology. The system measures the electrical potential along the meridian points of the palm of the hand, then an algorithm converts that information into an electrical frequency and displays this as the colors and patterns of the aura.

What does your aura look like? Is it ever-changing?

Yes, auras are ever-changing. They shift depending on where you are at emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I think one of the interesting things about getting a visual representation of one’s aura is that over time you can see patterns emerge. My aura is primarily red and orange when I am traveling with MOOD on the road, and when I am home in Austin, it is more rainbow-ish.

What’s the most surprising aura reading you’ve ever experienced?

I love it when I see Spirit Guides show up in aura photos. They look like streaks or bright pinpoint lights!

What inspired you to start MOODxMOSS?

I have been a photographer and spiritual seeker for over 20 years. A friend of mine told me about the AuraCam and I was intrigued. I’ve learned that when an idea keeps popping back into your mind it is time to listen! So after about six months of research and thinking about it, I decided to launch MOODxMOSS.

What are you grateful for this SXSW?

I am most grateful to be partnering with milk + honey for the Wellness Expo. I love that SXSW created a new segment of the conference to include the wellness community. I feel and see a shift happening and it is exciting to be part of it.

The SXSW Wellness Expo is free + open to the public.
