milk + honey Extended Hours, Parking Options, and Road Closures, When Formula 1 Comes to Austin
November 15, 2012Formula 1 is Coming, and We’re Open Late!
This weekend Formula 1 kicks off at Circuit of the Americas. With thousands coming to Austin to celebrate, we’re extending our hours at our 2nd Street District spa. Friday through Sunday, November 16 – 18, we’ll be open from 8am to 10pm. Also, there are street closures this weekend: Cesar Chavez and 2nd Street will be open, but 3rd Street will be closed from Congress to Lavaca, and Colorado will be closed from 2nd Street to 5th Street. Austin Fashion Week Names milk + honey’s Alissa Bayer 2012 Trailblazer

The founder and owner of milk + honey, Alissa Bayer, is now the proud owner of the Golden Boot (pictured). That’s right, Austin Fashion Week named Bayer one of five recipients of the 2012 Trailblazer Award.
The Austin Fashion Awards were held at the Austin Music Hall on Saturday night and brought the week-long celebration to an end.
Matt Swinney, the Austin Fashion Week founder, told the Statesman.com, “It gets bigger and bigger every year, and I get most of the credit, but that’s not fair. It takes the entire community to put together.” Swinney says it’s rewarding every time “designers who have put their blood, sweat and tears into a collection trust us to do it justice here.”

Final Night Runway Show: August 17
The entire styling team from SALON by milk + honey will participate in the final night of runway shows at the Driskill Hotel on August 17. A group of amazing designers will be showcasing their work and we are thrilled to be working with such talented people. The designers are: Herff Christiansen, Ashley Nicole Hardy, League of Rebels, Karson’s Clothier, Lisa Vian Hunter, Parrott by Sarah Parrott, Nikki Polous and Jag Saint Joi. If the runway shows are anything like last year, they will be full of dynamic designs and sensational styling, by yours truly of course. We look forward to seeing you all there!

These special portraits will be donated and hung in the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center as inspiration to young cancer patients and their families.
