SALON by milk + honey is holding a Mother’s Day makeover contest. We’ll have two winners, one for each of our two locations. The winner will receive a makeover that includes a Signature Facial, a milk + honey Manicure, a Cut + Color, a Makeup Application, and a $50 goodie bag of salon and spa products, a total value of over $350.

The Amazing Race is holding open casting calls for pairs of contestants at the Hill Country Galleria on April 29 from 1pm to 5pm. Casting will be done on a first-come-first-served basis and a line will form up to 24 hours in advance. We have one pass that will allow you to cut to one of the front ten spots in the line on the day of the casting calls. (You know that you’ll probably look better on camera if you didn’t spend the night in a lawn chair!)

SALON by milk + honey will be participating in our neighbor DuO’s style off on Saturday March 12, helping with hair and makeup. This fun fashion show and style competition will feature live still modeling from 3-4pm and then a style off from 5-6pm. We can’t promise that “Blue Steel” will be whipped out during the competition, but we’re certain that everyone will have a great time since there will be a DJ and free margaritas!

The Modern Home Tour was created in order to promote progressive, responsible urban growth in Austin by featuring unique and modern homes designed by local Architects and Designers and marketed by local Real Estate professionals. The Tour provides an opportunity for Austinites to learn about the dwellings that our community is producing to take care of the demands of the growth in Austin while being environmentally conscious and architecturally progressive.
The tour will be held on Saturday, February 5 from 11am – 6pm. SALON by milk + honey will be providing “modern looks for modern people” at the cocktail reception that follows the tour from 6-8pm at Bo Concept. Our stylists will be providing hair styling and makeup during the happy hour – perfect if you are going out on the town afterwards or searching for a new look.
SALON by milk + honey will be providing mini-holiday makeovers at ART on 5th Gallery’s “Girls Night Out Local Extravaganza”. During this event, you’ll be able to see 100 new pieces from local designers including Cody Sigel, Shalena White, and Marjorie Parangua.

Join Animal Lovers of Austin, Inc & the 2nd Street District for BARKITECTURE 2010 on November 6 from Noon-4pm. 
Enjoy three city blocks of architectural dog-centric fun, such as a silent auction of designer doghouses created by local designers, builders, and architects, a winter-inspired fashound show, and designer dog park. Get your picture taken in the Annie Ray photo booth, do some holiday shopping, or learn more about Austin’s architectural community. Visit with representatives from our local area animal advocacy groups, local area rescues, and Austin Urban Vet Center for questions about your pet’s health. Funds raised from the auction will go to benefit Austin Dog Rescue, Austin Pets Alive, Blue Dog Rescue, and Wee Rescue. This event is free and open to the public. Dogs welcome.
