Our milk + honey Spa Product of the Month is Supergoop Sunscreen Swipes. If you’re wondering what Supergoop is all about, don’t worry. Our very own assistant manager Renee Rodgers had Supergoop training (for real) and now she’s a bit of a Supergoop expert.
Here’s what Renee has learned …
Supergoop is free of parabens and Oxybenzone, that’s the icky stuff. There is also no artificial colors or fragrances.
It has been clinically tested in both the Asian and European markets. Right now, the United States doesn’t currently require or offer clinical testing, which makes our product unique.
Supergoop products are great for sensitive skin. They can be worn alone or under make up. All Supergoop products, with exception of the specific face lotion, are SPF 30. The face lotion is SPF 35. Supergoop lip balm comes in Mint and Acai and has the highest SPF of any lip balm out there. Also, the Sun Stick will Sun Stick will not melt if left in the sun or car. How many products can say that?
There are two types of sunscreen: Physical vs Chemical
Physical sunscreen includes anything that sits on the top layer of the skin and allows for immediate entry into the sun. This would include the Swipes (zinc oxide) and Sticks (titanium oxide). Both of these items are great for reapplication.
Chemical sunscreen includes the lotions. These must soak into the skin and therefore requires 30 minutes because of application and entry into the sun. These are great for initial application.
UVA rays and UVB rays both can cause damage to the skin. UVA rays cause sun damage at best and cancer at worst. UVB rays result in fine lines and wrinkles.
Sunscreen is no longer allowed to claim “waterproof” but must read “water resistant.” All sunscreen, no matter the level of SPF or brand, must be reapplied every 2 hours for full effectiveness as it all breaks down at the same rate.
The bottom line is, your skin needs to be taken care of in the sun.
Supergoop products are now available at milk + honey spa.
Don’t forget Supergoop Sunscreen Wipes are our Spa Product of the Month.
Serum (which we do not currently carry)
SPF 30
24 hour moisture complex
Allows Vitamin D production (which is the only sunscreen product on the market that allows production of Vitamin D while wearing sunscreen!!!)
THE BOTTOM LINE IS YOU SHOULD WEAR SUNSCREEN!
That’s All!
